Salut mon poussin 🐣

(I say this a lot — it means “hi little chick.” You’ll get used to it.)

I’m Sabrine.

Creative director, movement lover, and joy-led experience designer behind the Sabou Dance Academy and now Home of Enjoyment.

I build playgrounds for humans — to feel more, connect more, and come home to themselves through movement, food, travel, and storytelling.

Whether I’m dancing in Accra, cooking in Paris, or teaching a workshop in Amsterdam, everything I do is grounded in one thing:

Joy over performance.

Presence over perfection.

Enjoyment and feelings first, always.

For over 10 years, my work weaves together:

  • Afro dance, cultural exchange, and creative movement

  • Nourishing spaces for expression, joy, and sweat

  • Events that feel like home, and collaborations that feel like play

This isn’t about “being good” at something. It’s about feeling alive inside your own body — with others, not alone.

How I got here

(and why I stayed)

In 2018. I left my 9–5 at Nike to chase two feelings: joy and aliveness.

I opened Sabou Dance Academy in 2019 and for 7 years, I taught 1000+ classes, travelled, and built experiences that made people sweat, laugh, cry, and reconnect to themselves. We danced in studios, parks, on rooftops (without mirrors)… anywhere joy could fit.

In 2021, my first trip to Ghana cracked my heart wide open. I learned that dance was never just movement — it was memory, community, storytelling. It taught me presence and I wanted to share that even more with others. I then created the Ghana Dance Camp, a space where traditions met play, and strangers became family.

In 2025, I burned out. Moved through grief, loss, and full life reset.I knew it was time for a a new rhythm. I closed my school and Home of Enjoyment was born. A new chapter that blends all I’ve lived, loved, and learned — with more joy, softness, and soul.

A creative playground for movement, food, and culture, rooted in story, soul, and joy, where I now help others do the same — turn their stories, art, and passions into spaces that move people (literally and emotionally)..

The Playground Way: Story, Soul & Joy

These three guide everything I create. They help us move beyond the surface and into the bones of our own aliveness.

    Story (Theme)

Every space I create starts with a question or emotion. It’s what gives the experience shape, heart, and coherence.

    Soul (Depth)

There’s always room for silence, tears, or stillness. Depth doesn’t have to be heavy — it can also be playful.

    Joy (Sustainability)

Joy is not a reward. It’s the way through. It’s what lets us keep going without losing ourselves.

Behind the Scenes (a.k.a. me in real life)

When I’m not dancing or dreaming up new events, you’ll find me…

taking analog photos, chasing the sunrise, obsessing over fries, calling everyone ‘petit poussin,’ or hanging out with my dog Sollie (who’s basically my twin in energy).

I’m an introvert at heart who loves deep one-on-one connections — and I truly believe joy joy is a form of rebellion. And softness is a kind of strength.
