Ghana Dance & Cultural Camp
Two weeks in Ghana to move, connect, and live fully.
Why I created this camp
I didn’t design this camp on a laptop. I lived it.
The first time I set foot in Ghana, something cracked open in me.
The energy, the people, the food, the music spilling from every corner — it wasn’t just a trip, it was a homecoming I didn’t even know I was searching for.
And the joy — olalaaaa big, fat, unstoppable joy.
Joy that doesn’t need a reason, because it’s in the air, the rhythm, the people.
On the dance floor, I wasn’t performing. I wasn’t teaching. I was just being.
Sweat, laughter, mistakes, rhythm — all of it real, all of it alive.
And outside the studio, it was the same. Meals. Music. Markets. Friendship. Joy woven through everything.
I came back knowing: this is too powerful to keep to myself.
That’s why I created Ghana Dance Camp.
Not as another “retreat,” not as a tourist attraction, but as a playground for grown-ups:
To train with Ghana’s finest teachers.
To eat, laugh, and share life with locals.
To connect with each other in ways you can’t on Zoom or in a studio.
To slow down, breathe, and actually enjoy the experience you’re part of.
And here’s the thing: I only take 7 people, max. Why?
Because intimacy changes everything.
With a handful of us, there’s no hiding in the back row, no feeling lost in the crowd.
You’re seen, supported, and part of a small family that bonds deeply.
Every year I return, I’m reminded: Ghana isn’t just a destination. It’s a vibration. And it’s pure joy.
And I built this camp so you can feel it too.
What it feels like to be there
Here’s the truth: most “dance retreats” leave you drained.
Schedules packed from morning till night. Workshops stacked like Tetris. Everyone’s busy doing, but no one’s really feeling.
That’s not what we do here. It’s not:
❌ Just another intensive where you collapse at the end.
❌ A tourist package with “culture” as a side dish.
❌ About posting the perfect picture.
This camp is about something deeper:
Dance that hits your bones — Azonto, Afro, traditional, and street styles taught by Ghana’s most inspiring movers.
Culture you live, not watch — meals, markets, music, late-night jams, real conversations.
Community that feels like family — small group, safe space, laughter, and belonging.
Space to breathe — time to rest, reflect, and enjoy instead of racing from class to class.
You don’t just leave with new moves. You leave with new rhythms, new friendships, and new memories.
You leave lighter, freer, and more alive.
Arrival in Accra — welcome circle, first tastes of the city, settling in.
Training & Exploration — daily dance sessions + cultural workshops.
Immersion — trips to markets, live music, late-night dance floors.
Connection — community circles, shared meals, space to process.
Celebration — closing night that feels like family, not goodbye.
✨ And because it’s capped at just 7 people, you’ll never feel like a number in a big group. It’s intimate, personal, and you’ll leave not just with new moves — but with a new family.
✨ In 2026, we’re expanding: 1 week in Accra + 1 week outside the city for a deeper dive into Ghana’s culture and landscapes.

FAQ’s
-
Nope. This camp isn’t about perfect steps, it’s about moving with joy. Beginners, curious movers, seasoned dancers — all are welcome. What matters is openness, not skill. If you’re ready to sweat, laugh, and learn, you’ll fit right in.
-
You’ll train with Ghana’s finest teachers in:
Azonto (street style, high energy, pure fun)

Afro & street styles you see across Accra
And the freestyle jams that happen late at night when the music takes over.
Every class is a vibe, every teacher brings their own fire.

We’ll be staying in simple, comfortable guesthouses both in Accra and outside the city. Exact locations will be confirmed closer to the camp, but you can expect clean, safe spaces where you can rest, recharge, and share laughs with the group. Nothing luxury-hotel, nothing bare-bones — just the right balance for an authentic experience.
-
We move as a group and always with local support. Ghana is one of the safest, most welcoming countries in West Africa. Like any trip, you’ll need common sense, but you won’t be navigating alone. We’ve been here before, we know the flow, and you’ll be held every step of the way.
-
Absolutely not. Most people come solo — and leave with family. By day two, you’ll be sharing inside jokes, playlist songs, and plantain fries with your new crew. We keep the group small so it feels intimate, not overwhelming.
-
We’ll send you a prep guide with everything you need: visa info, travel tips, packing list, dance prep, and even a playlist to get in the vibe. All you need to bring is an open heart, comfy clothes, and good shoes for dancing (and maybe for the market).
-
Welcome to Ghana. Things shift here. Lights go out, buses run late, music plays longer than expected — and that’s part of the beauty. We’ll adapt together, always keeping you safe. If you need rigid schedules and everything “on time,” this might not be your camp.
-
This camp is for people who are:
✨ Open, curious, and excited to dive into Ghanaian culture.
✨ Ready to sweat, dance, laugh, and connect.
✨ Flexible when things don’t go to plan.
✨ More interested in belonging than in “collecting experiences.”
It’s not for people who:
❌ Expect a tourist package with everything polished and perfect.
❌ Just want to tick “African dance” off their list.
❌ Care more about Instagram optics than lived experience.
If you’re here for real connection, culture, and joy — welcome home.
This isn’t a vacation. It’s not a box to tick. It’s a shift.
Two weeks in Ghana that will stay in your body, your memory, and your joy for years to come.
If you’re ready to stop being a spectator and start living the story — the camp is waiting.
